If you're wondering why that Tesla sell-a-thon on the White House lawn

was particularly important to Elon Musk, listen to these statistics.

First two months of this year, Tesla sales down 71% in Germany, 45% in Norway, 44% in France, 44% in Spain.

The company doesn't break out its U.S. sales, but one estimate says down about 11% in January.

And in a classic case of what aboutism, some defenders of Musk, and look, if he can get the president of the United States to help him sell cars, more power to him, right?

There's questions about whether Trump should have done it. Of course. People are saying, well, you know, Joe Biden did that.
