let's talk about Beverly Hills. So a few months ago, a listener of mine named Samira reached out to me and said the following.

Why does RHOBH connect with audiences and get such good ratings?

Criticism that I often see about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are,

nothing happens, they only focus on one conflict a season and harp too long on such.

It's too surface level.

Kyle is a producer favorite despite being boring.

Two image conscious, etc.

Despite the same criticisms year in and year out,

the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills does comparatively well in the ratings.

So maybe the opposite of your Miami episode can be explored.

Ask fans why they like slash keep watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and group the reasons.

So for context, Samira is referencing an episode that I did last summer about the Real Housewives of Miami, where I tried to better understand why people who watched other Real Housewives franchises don't watch Miami. Because the long-held

sort of party line about that franchise was that it deserved better ratings than it was getting. So what

was the deal? Why aren't people watching it? I got hundreds of responses to my call for answers on

social media. I rounded them up to kind of paint a more vivid picture of why people were sleeping on

or just flat out
