But I think that again we're moving into concepts that are often constricted to one or two applications.

We think of them in one or two ways.

And one of the goals of this series is to actually broaden our concepts, to broaden some of these themes that we see that are specific to financial transactions or specific to social interactions, but then talk about how the Prophet

Allah al-A-Lah al-I-Wis-L-Sallem is really addressing a behavior and a concept in a much

bigger way and so many of you might have heard or you should have heard if you've

read the Quran the term al-motofififian.

There's a Surah in the Quran called al-motof-fifian,

al-motof-fifian, or al-motof-fifian. And this is a term that has many, many different applications and meanings to it,

but I'll start off with the Hadith, and that will actually be the Hadith, the narration that will go off of today,

that mentions the reason for the revelation of this verse.

I mean Abbas narrates that when the Prophet Salah al-Lah al-Ihah,

al-Ihah, came to the city of Medina.

When he arrived in the city of Medina,

he said that the people used to cheat with their weights and their measures.

And in fact, he says,

he uses strong language. He says,
