Summary

Hangxiety - The feeling of overwhelming guilt, stress, and worry you experience the day after a drinking binge. We’ve all been there, waking up with the dreaded fear of what you did or said last night. But what if that was a thing of the past? Swapping sloshed nights out to sober nights and hangover-less mornings, Millie Gooch is changing the perception of what a night out can look like. Suffering from periods of heightened anxiety from alcohol and hangovers halving her weekends, Millie has gone sober and formed a community online @sobergirlssociety which destigmatises sobriety and shows people that you can have just as much fun, without the sore head the next day. Hi, I'm Clemy Telford and it's time to get open and get honest.

0:08.5

Each week I interview a guest about a topic that we as a society often shy away from.

From sex lives to salaries, life and death, religion and real bodies. No subject is off the table.

Welcome to Honestly, the podcast.

0:27.8

My ambition with this podcast is to remind people and myself that every person has a story.

0:34.4

The same goes with brands.

0:36.0

And in this case, the brand in question is our sponsor,

0:39.2

F&F Clothing, who have absolutely challenged my preconceptions of what a supermarket retailer can offer.

0:45.8

There's an unbelievable amount that goes on behind the scenes at F&F Clothing. They're one of the

0:50.1

biggest retailers to take action towards becoming a sustainable brand, as well as their

0:54.4

commitment to inclusive sizing and diversity. All these unexpected but excellent things are what

0:59.8

make me feel chaff to have them on board as a sponsor. So a big thank you to F&F clothing

1:04.4

for partnering with Honesty Podcast and supporting my mission of transparency, truth and breaking

1:09.9

the mould of what's expected.

1:12.6

Hi, welcome to Honestly Podcast. I'm Cammy Telford and I'm here to do one of my favourite things.

1:19.8

No, not being really rubbish at folding clothes, having a properly frank, open chat about tricky, sticky and often not spoken about subjects. Today we're talking to

1:29.8

a freelance journalist and founder of an Instagram account called Sober Girls Society. As well as

1:34.5

being sober herself, she's a fountain of knowledge for other babes wanting to go sober. She is Millie Gooch.

1:40.6

Hello, Millie. How are you? Hi, I'm good, thank you. This feels like a strange blind date in some ways, doesn't it?

1:46.6

Yeah, it does.

1:47.4

We met like five minutes ago outside. I hope it's a successful blind date.

1:52.0

So, as the title of the podcast suggests, this is all about being honest.
