Summary

In this episode, I am virtually joined by Anisha Ramakrishna from Bravo’s Family Karma and Currently Cringing Podcast. We discuss getting out of a long relationship and being single again, being two different people with friends and family, Indian culture vs. American culture, if we should date someone who was raised similar, splitting checks with a partner, changing your mind in relationships, the importance of toxic and healthy relationships, losing our libidos, keeping the door open after a break up, how to get a guy hooked, knowing when to break your own rules, how much to share about our sex lives on our podcasts, and more. This episode starts with a solo where I discuss how to approach your desired gender when you see them, the different phases of my 20s, the stigma of being single in your 30s, fears/concerns about long term commitment, and men who are intimidated by successful women.

Hey guys, welcome back to We Met Adakmi. This is a great episode today if you are single,

0:12.6

but also if you're in a relationship because Anisha is just so dynamic, she's so funny,

0:19.1

and I really think that you're going to love what she has to say in her perspective.

We talk about so many important subjects here, like how we both were celibate at one point

0:31.2

in our dating life and keeping the door open after breakups, Indian culture versus American culture.

0:38.7

If we should date someone who were raised similar to or raised different from,

0:43.7

you'll see, you'll check it out. But before we get into it, I'm going to answer a few of your

0:48.1

questions in a quick solo. I had asked you to submit them as always and a lot of them were very

0:55.3

similar at this time around. The first one, which came up a lot, is all about approaching people

1:01.2

of your desire gender in like non-social settings, also in social settings. And I would say,

1:08.2

I had done a TikTok like where to find cute guys in the city and everyone's like, okay, but then what?

1:12.9

I spoke to my boyfriend about this and to his friends and it's honestly just something as simple

1:19.2

as like, hi, how's it going? I think we overthink these things, at least I do as a woman,

1:27.3

but in reality, guys always want to talk to you. So as long as you just say, like, hi,

1:33.2

or what are you guys up to later, it's such an easy icebreaker. And really, I mean, you have

1:38.9

to find someone out of your group of friends. It's like the most outgoing. I remember right before

1:43.5

the pandemic, I was at past East in the city with a group of girlfriends and I saw a table of guys.

1:49.2

And they weren't like blowing us away with how cute they were, but they were like a seemingly

1:54.4

nice group of guys. And so I went up to them as we were leaving and I was like, hey guys,

1:59.6

like, what's your plan for tonight? And I think it's also easier when you're like already in a

2:03.6

relationship because you don't care what the outcome is. And that's why you should always like push
