Shortly after the Big 10 restarted its fall football season, the Pac-12 followed suit and announced its own plans to restart operations.

College football was back.

The plan? Seven games in seven weeks starting in early November.

The thing that jumps out to me though, not a lot of wiggle room here.

You're starting the season November 6th, seven games in seven weeks and it's not out of the realm of possibility to think

some of these games in the Pac-12 might get postponed.

The Pac-12 had been the lone holdout among the power five conferences.

Due in part to a complex web of state and local protocols.

Yeah and the Pac-12 had to negotiate with California.

I mean with with four of their teams, UCLA, USC, Cal and Stanford in the state of California and the rules dealing with COVID in that state

were making it difficult for the Pac-12 to come back and play football.

The national conversation quickly shifted to whether the Pac-12 could place a team in the college football playoff.

At the end of the year, if there's an undefeated Pac-12 champion that's played only five or six games,

how does the college football committee compare that with another resume from another school and another power five conference that's maybe played 10, 11 or 12 games that remains to be...

But looking back, the playoff was secondary.

No conference had more challenges than the Pac-12.

The real story was that they managed to play it all.
