Summary

Welcome to the "Saturday Morning Golf Stat" from the Hack it Out Golf Podcast. In this edition of the Saturday Stat, a golfer is sitting in the fairway, 175 yards from the hole. How likely is he to make double or worse if he's a scratch golfer? What if he's a 15-index? Mark and Greg register their guesses, and the actual number surprises them quite a bit. The takeaway: a lot of us have a lot to learn about making smart decisions on the course.

Each of these will be a mini-episode (10-15 minutes long) about an interesting golf stat. We will discuss what you can learn, and most importantly, how you can apply this on the golf course to lower your scores and lower your handicap.

Listen on your drive to the golf course or over your Saturday morning coffee!

Last time he's one in a row, but he then had, I won the one before that, and then he won the one before. Like, it is, it's like tennis. He's back. I'm like, pras and I'm like Federer, you know.

If you call me out, I'm taking these stumps home, they're mine, kind of. My mum and dad, when we would play, like with my brother, they would whisper, don't bowl him out in the first five balls. Otherwise, the whole game for the whole family was the end of. I could turn around and whack the stumps down and storm off. But I've grown out of all of that, Lou.

1:28.3

Yes, you have. No, you haven't. No, you haven't. That explains a lot. Thank you for that little insight. Because that absolutely clear. I like that. Oh, yeah, definitely. We're using that in the future. Absolutely. Right, Lou, what we got? Today we're talking about par fours. So you're on a par four.

chances of making double bogey or worse from 175 yards? Scratch players. And you want a percentage of that? Yeah, percentage of that. Greg, you get to go first. Okay. I'm going to- Scratch handicappers, sorry, scratch and 15. Scratch and 15. And what's the question? Double bogey or worse? Percent of the time they make double bogey or worse. For 175 yards out. 175 yards in the fairway. Oh, God. Oh, yeah, yeah. We're thinking quickly here. I'm going to, okay, I'd say Scratch. Are you good, Mark? Yeah.
