Summary

A Saturday Stat without the Master of Stats?! In this Lou-less episode, Mark and Greg take a dive, not into the Arccos database, but into swing numbers. All three have had their swings measured on gears, and Mark brings the numbers (and Greg guesses) shoulder turns and tilts. Seeing how and why golfers of differing abilities move like they do can help all of us make a more effective swing at the ball. Each of these will be a mini-episode (10-15 minutes long) about an interesting golf stat. We will discuss what you can learn, and most importantly, how you can apply this on the golf course to lower your scores and lower your handicap. Listen on your drive to the golf course or over your Saturday morning coffee! Data is sourced from Arccos Golf. They have over 1 BILLION shots in their database.  Check them out at: https://www.arccosgolf.com/  Use code MARK15 for 15% off! Welcome back, Greg. Finally got the A team

together, Mark. Here we, mate. What a team. Hey, so I've got a little idea for something

0:43.8

different this week for the Saturday stat. And what I've done is I've looked at three

0:50.7

swings on gears that we have captured. I have a Mr. Greg Chalmers, PGA

0:56.2

tour player and champions tour player as we speak at the minute, his swing on gears. We have my

1:01.7

own swing on gears with a few catcher, but we also have the missing link, who's not here this week,

1:07.0

because he's busy doing jobs, Mr. Luce Stagner's swing as well. So I thought,

1:13.6

what would be a better time to slate Lou's golf swing when he's not here? I think it's a

1:20.5

fantastic thing, Mark. And I still have scar tissue from watching Lou get on gears from that,

1:25.4

that session was, we've talked about it at length and I still

1:29.1

like I have absolute like it makes me the shivers it really was a fascinating snapshot of Lou

getting a lesson. So yes, happy to talk about gears and let's go. Yeah. Okay. So the question that

1:42.7

I'm going to pose to you, I have all the answers in front of me, and we'll talk about why the answers come out. So hopefully it'll be an interesting episode for people listening as well. But the question, we're talking about an iron shot for the three players. So me, you and Lou, all in an iron shot. Now, I'm hitting a seven, you're in a five. I can't remember what club about looking, lose hitting. He's probably hitting a seven-ish iron, I would guess. We're going to talk shoulder turn. I think the audience would see it as, but they call it rib cage turns, because that can be different, because your shoulders can move independently from your rib cage, which can contribute different numbers.

2:19.3

So it's actually a ribcage number on gears, but think of shoulder turn for the everyday

listener and golfer.

2:24.2

I want to know the shoulder turn number at the top of the back swing for you, for me, and for
