We went on a field trip to New Orleans to learn all about the food and drink and history of that city, which as you can't imagine was a little overwhelming.

We interviewed 18 plus people and one of the things that surprised me the most talking to all these people was hearing locals talk about Marla DeGra.

And describing it as this family communal neighborhood celebration.

I thought of people who had too much to drink and women showing their breast for beads. And while that does exist, Marla DeGra is so much more than that.
