Well, about nine and a half years ago, I woke up at about 1.30 in the morning to my wife timing

her contractions because her pregnancy with our first child, Noah, was coming to its conclusion.

And she was timing out the contractions and me being the good and comforting and considerate husband that I was, I didn't feel like

the contractions were close enough together for us to do something. So my kind of mode of operation

with each of our kids has been like, you'll know when you're really in labor. But until then,

I'm going to go back to sleep.

Anyway, that's probably not the best way to operate.

It turns out Noah was heading out, and so this was just our first experience with having a baby, and I loved every minute of it.

I can say that because I wasn't trying to get a human being out of my body, but I personally loved every minute of it. I can say that because I wasn't trying to get a human being

adrenaline of getting our stuff and getting in the car and making the drive to the hospital

while your wife is gripping anything she can. And then we got into, like, the holding room.

And the majority of my stay in the hospital was good, except for my wife's voice, like,

dropping an octave when I decided to take a call when she was in the hospital room.

I believe her exact words were, get off the phone.

I think that's how it came out.

Like, if you remember the bad guy on inspector gadget,

like back in the day, Dr. Claw, it was like that, but in real life.
