You know, while we cover a ton of current event headlines on smarter news.com,

I think taking a big step back and listening to someone like our next guest can offer incredible

insight, not only to what we see and read on a regular basis, but also some invaluable insight

to life. So here's how this interview came about. During the funeral of former First Lady Barbara

Bush, one photograph in particular became a bit of a viral sensation. In fact,

I'm pretty sure you've probably seen it. It was President George H.W. Bush in his wheelchair

surrounded by other former presidents and first ladies. They included President George W. Bush

and his wife Laura, President Clinton and his wife Hillary, President Obama and his wife Michelle, and current First Lady Melania Trump.

Now, President Trump did not attend, and that's not unusual.

Typically, from what we've seen over the last several decades, sitting presidents do not attend the

funerals of First Ladies, but First Ladies do attend the funerals of their predecessors.

And presidents don't attend for a series of different reasons.

One, just to avoid any current political or partisan controversy being part of an event like

a funeral, but perhaps more importantly importantly the security needs of the president

can really distract or change the events and so not wanting to do that the presidents don't

attend and president trump was like other presidents in the past so at the funeral though this

family photo is taken and the man who captured it is a photographer

by the name of Paul Morse. And I read about him in Time Magazine and a brief write up about

the photo online. And I thought, you know, this guy sounds really interesting. So I dug into his
