for that thing we used to spend a lot of time on called A Social Life.

But a good short story can take you on a truly wild ride and a fraction of the time.

Those who have listened to Selected Shorts for decades know how dedicated we are to short

stories.

And after 35 plus years of performances, we've taken our devotion to a new level.

That is, for the first time, we helped usher an entire book of news stories into existence

all at once.

We commissioned 35 favorite writers to create news stories for our very first anthology,

titled What Else, Small Odices.

When the collection was published, shout out to Algonquin Books, we held a day-long celebration

of Selected Shorts at our home theater Symphony Space.

During this unprecedented 12-hour show, actors of stage and screen performed each of the 35

news stories.
