Okay, the fifth thing is a surprise motif.

So we'll have to explain a little bit.

There is an architect interior designer here in Utah

named Robert MacArthur.

I forever had the biggest crush on his work

before I even started Alice Lane.

And if you would go through his homes,

he would always have these motifs. Like like he would use a black roller shade on almost all his windows, and in the bottom right corner he would do a cursive alphabet letter.

So you would sort of see the alphabet graduate around the house like a series of windows would be like a B C and then you'd walk into the next room in a D. E. F and it would kind of continue.

That's so cool.

And it was, he would have him hand painted on with beautiful script with white, with a white lowercase alphabet letter.

So lowercase A, lowercase B.

And that would be this little signature or he would have like a little tiny tile put into a big rhythm of

tile but a little tiny one centered on the faucet in a powder bath that's just like a little

raised detail and you would just kind of look for these Easter eggs throughout the house and these small

motifs were just romantic and interesting and they felt very personal to the

homeowner that lived there and this alphabet series was kind of a signature of his

and it was just so fun to get to walk through his home and look for the Easter eggs.
