Good morning. It's three minutes after ten. I do hope you're well. I seem to be starting every show at the moment with a sort of reverse Jerry Springer, as you might call it. It's not a final thought. It's an opening thought. And I had another one this morning, so indulge me for no more than 27 seconds. Some days, if you're still working, presumably whether you're working from home or not, although I think those of us who get out of the house have, largely speaking, an advantage over those that don't. Some days it really feels like a hamster wheel, even if you're lucky enough to have the best job in the world, like what I do. But then you have to remind yourself, you're lucky to have a hamster wheel. You really do, you know, so many people who don't. You can be suffering terribly in all sorts of ways, but, you know, there are always people who have it worse than you do.

And that concludes today's opening, reverse Jerry Springer thought.

Four minutes after ten, quite a few choices today.

I'm not quite sure what direction will end up going in together.

It is, as ever, almost as much up to you as it is up to me. I am drawn to the story of

the postman who has been suspended for refusing to help an old lady get up on her doorstep. I feel,

I don't want to make light of her plight. And I didn't talk about it earlier because I wanted to

make sure, A, she was fine. And B, if we did do a phoning about it, I didn't want to feel that shining the spotlight on the story might have changed the way that it was handled, which is probably a little bit of an unnecessary worry. But the lady concern seems to be fine and the postman concern has now been suspended, so I don't see how we can make an unpleasant situation worse.

And it does, forgive me, I think, it does have all the trappings of a phone-in humdinger.

And having spent most of my phone-in-career, scrupulously and studiously avoiding phone-in humdingers, because they felt like lazy obvious routes i don't think

there's much chance to be doing parking tickets anytime soon but i'll tell you what everything's

upside down at the moment so don't even hold me to that i do find myself drawn like a moth to a flame

to what might be loosely described as old school phone in humdingers. So should the postman who refused to help

an old lady get up after she fell over in the snow, should he lose his job? May well be our starter at 12.

Our starter at 10 is a mixed bag of lockdown and political related stories. There is a remarkable tale in Texas unfolding as we speak, which at first

glance seems to encapsulate the, the brand of toxicity within politics on both sides of the

Atlantic, sponsored usually by secretly funded think tanks and various shills and ghouls. It seems to me to be

close to the apotheosis of what allowing that vile and toxic mindset into the public

bloodstream will eventually lead to. I'll go into a little bit more detail later, but I think Texas is having all sorts of

trouble in this freeze that has also seen a collapse of the state power grid. And what's

fascinating as you read into it, and like like you I knew nothing about this 10 minutes ago
