Tonight was the final stop on the road to Crown Jewel. Tomorrow in Saudi Arabia, this was a rare taped episode of Smackdown Tonight. You could tell because if you...

looked at the top of the screen, they had these tracking lines. Something you would rarely see. Like if you had a VHS tape, you would see those lines on the screen. If you looked at the very top of the screen, I don't know if the tape was damaged or what.

But a taped episode of Smackdown Tonight. Jake Paul is in Saudi Arabia. He's going to be in his brother's corner for his match with Roman Reigns for the championship tomorrow.

He was at the press conference earlier today. So we're going to talk about Crown Jewel a little bit later on. I've got final predictions. I did make some changes to my predictions from Sunday because there were some developments on TV this week that has me changing my mind on a few things.

So we'll run through those a little bit later on.

We had the old Shayna Baszler back tonight. That was the story being told on commentary. The OG Shayna Baszler from NXT returned on the show tonight.

And she was not alone for her match against Natalia. She had Ronda Rousey in her corner. Triple H going back to the Shayna Baszler that he knew and that he booked as a wrecking machine in the old NXT during the black and gold era.

That was very nice to see tonight on the show. I'll tell you something else that was nice to see that man event for the intercontinental championship Walter doing that title proud.

It was going to against Rey Mysterio for the icy title. I thought an excellent man event between those two tonight. We had the announcement of the Smackdown World Cup.

First ever Smackdown World Cup tournament is going to be taking place and is going to be kicking off on Smackdown next Friday. Right now that's all we know about it.

So that was Smackdown. But this is also my first rampage review in two months. It's been just about eight weeks since I have done a rampage review.

And why did I do a rampage review tonight? One name. Shabbata. Katzuri Shabbata of New Japan pro wrestling who has not wrestled a proper advertised match in five years, over five years.

Which was the match with Okada that nearly not only ended his career, but ended his life.

Although Dave Meltzer once in the in the observer did say that Shabbata in the surgery that he had literally had his brain removed from his skull.

One of the all time great faux pas that still makes me laugh when I think about it from the observer just just the visual of Shabbata having his brain taken out of his skull.

The things you learn by reading the wrestling observer is really quite something.

But Shabbata did nearly lose his life as a very serious injury and to see him in the ring tonight, challenging for a championship on live television was something I was not going to miss.

So I did tune in tonight and I'm very happy that I did. I'm glad that I did. It was a lot of fun watching him at Orange Cassidy.

Mike Tyson was also on commentary because rampage see this is one of those rare weeks where rampage was live and Smackdown was taped usually it's the other way around.

But for one night only we had WWE taped an AW live and so we had Mike Tyson on live commentary from Atlantic City where he has had many a fight back in the day Mike Tyson very familiar with Atlantic City.

He sat in on commentary for the all Atlantic championship match and not only did he sit in on commentary for that match my favorite moment of the night was Mike Tyson on commentary correcting the human wrestling encyclopedia X caliber on a whole.
