Well, clearly, I mean, we are in a deep conversation about how our highest bodies of power view the treatment of the human body. So yeah, it is a very timely and urgent topic, but how I came to to it how I made the piece was I sort of

started interrogating myself as an artist as to what are the most important

events that I've experienced as an American, as a citizen, as an artist,

and what do I need to talk about?

And that made me reflect on the Clarence Thomas hearings, had a massive impact on me as a young woman, as a nascent feminist, and really shaped me as a citizen

as a citizen.

And then for better or for worse,

as they say, you know, history doesn't repeat it rhymes.
