The Medicare system and patients on Medicare will get a discount on some popular drugs that treat diabetes and obesity.

Novo Nordisk, the maker of these drugs recently also lowered the monthly price for existing

patients who pay out of pocket. And the Trump administration also announced earlier this month that

through a government-run website. And the administration has said that site will launch early next year. And these aren't the only drugs that'll be discounted. The Centers for Medicare and

Medicaid Services announced price reductions for 14 other drugs, also starting in 2027.

And how did this Medicare services outfit pull off these discounts, Henry? Yeah, so they can negotiate some drug prices because of this

bill that was signed by former President Joe Biden back in 2022. That was the Inflation Reduction Act.

That bill allowed CMS to negotiate the price of 15 drugs per year with pharmaceutical companies

for the first time. But the law didn't allow those negotiated

prices to take effect until 2026. So we're about to see the first batch of them in January.

And these are lower prices for certain diabetes drugs and also a popular blood thinner.

The Biden administration negotiated those last year. And then we'll see the next round of negotiated prices in
