Hello everyone and welcome to Talk Nurdy. Today is Monday, March 13th,

2023 and I'm the host of the show Kara Santa Maria and of course you didn't hear from me last week because I was out of the country. I was visiting Jordan

along with a group of students and professors and postdocs from the university where I am completing my internship in clinical psychology.

We visited Jordan in order to offer some psychological assessment and intervention to mostly young children,

Palestinian refugees who are living in various parts of the country.

It was a really incredible experience.

I learned a lot and yeah it was just wonderful to spend time with with the Jordanian people to eat

their incredible food to go to some incredible places and and to just learn a lot from the

kids there as well.

You can probably hear in my voice that I'm sick.

I was not sick the whole trip, thank goodness,

and I really got to just kind of experience the depths of the culture.

But of course, I think I was exposed on the plane ride home and I am but a mere mortal I have finally done it and

tested positive for COVID-19. Three years late right so I know it started circulating in the US in March of

2020 and now I've tested positive in March of 2023 I took Paxlevid right

away I'm hoping to be on the mend pretty quickly, but I needed to get this recording up.

So I'm doing it with a stuffy nose and a little bit of a sore throat. So bear with me. Thanks for sticking it out with me
