0:29.8	The Slim Beauty is a knot that me and my friend Simon Becker invented in the Florida Keys to eliminate the Bemini twist out of a standard tarpened fly setup.
0:40.0	It worked really well and people started using this knot all over the place. I still use it and it's a very very good knot for a small line to a heavier line so class tip it to shock tip it and today we're going to tie it and test it with 12
0:56.4	pound monophyllament to 50 pound diawa J florro
1:01.1	fluorocarbon. You tie a double overhand in the leader and that's going to pull down to a figure
1:10.5	8. This figure 8 at this point looks as though it could hold water.
1:15.0	Okay. There it does not look like it could hold water. Here kind of looks like a bowl
1:20.0	shape. That's where we want it. Okay? So then what we would do, and what you do is you double
1:27.0	over your 20 pound test, 16 pound test, 12 pound, whatever it is that you're doing.
1:35.0	And traditionally we would use a Bimini twist to do this.
1:38.0	With a Slim Beauty, we started to try to do this without a Biminiini and it eliminated the need for leader stretcher cases and pre-stretching
1:48.9	our monofilament leaders which were at that point 80 pound test, very difficult to do.
1:55.6	So this not really made a big difference.
1:59.8	Doubled over, go in and out, just like that, follow it through. Okay. Now, pull this down just hand tight. A lot of people make a mistake here, they pull this down way too tight.
