This is an episode, a slice of the NFL. In particular, a slice of tangential NFL, by which I mean shit that

sports reporters do. The NFL mock draft are simulated, speculative projections or if the

NFL draft will actually be, where experts or fans predict which college players teams

will select. These are called mock drafts or simulations and are used to analyze team needs,

predict player values, and entertain fans before the real event. They serve as predictions

from the media or absolute fantasy

from championship star fans like me.

So I do want to talk about this from my perspective as a person who came to the NFL as a

grown human being.

I was a fully formed adult in my 40s before, or 30s, before I ever started really

paying attention to the NFL. And now, in 2026, 15 years after I started paying attention,

I look at the mock drafts to learn more about the positions, about the weaknesses on the teams, about things like that.

Yeah.

So while I totally appreciate that these are pundits making their best guesses without having been on the field,

without having hired those players, without having seen them in workshops and practice and training and combine

and all that stuff, all of that still matters year over year, over year, over year.

And that's the thing that I love about a mock draft.

It's also the thing last year I joined a fantasy team for the first time, and I learned that is a joy

for learning more about football as a fan and a person who just enjoys that through their
