Hello, and welcome to the slate, political gab fest for the 26th of February Friday.

I'm John Dickerson in Washington with David Plotz.

0:28.2

Emily Bazelon is in New Haven.

0:30.4

We're happy to be with you.

0:31.8

All of us are very happy.

0:32.9

We're rigorously and determinedly happy today as we talk in our first topic about health care, the president's meeting on the topic at Blair House.

0:40.7

Topic two is about the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibilities' verdict on the behavior of Bush administration, lawyers, and the handling of torture.

0:51.3

1:49.0

1:55.1

but to persuade the Democrats that his plan is sound and politically sound, that enough people are in support of it,

2:03.2

that the Republicans don't have a good enough answer that are going to make the polls go against him

2:08.9

in a way that scares off the Democrats.

2:11.2

That seemed to me what he had to gain.

2:13.6

So Diddy, you were there.

2:14.9

Well, you want to add anything to that, David?
