Hello and welcome to the Slate Political Gab Fest for Friday, May 28th.

I'm John Dickerson, here with Emily Bazelon and David Plotz.

We are at the Friends Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

We are not in our tiny little closet as normal.

And for Emily and me, this is a particularly wonderful experience since we both went to

Quaker schools, and it also gives us a context for those odd moments of silence that we

normally have in our live shows, because here we can just say it's a moment of quiet

reflection.

And so we're very happy about that.

We don't have many moments of silence because usually we talk over each other.

Usually it's too uncomfortable.

That's true.

But like the moment we're going through right now.
