Hello, and welcome to Sleep money extra. It's a Tuesday with a one-off special episode. I'm Felix Hammond of Axios and I am going to be talking to Nobel Laureate Joe Stiglitz about his new book People Power and Profits.

This episode is a little bit of an experiment. We're not entirely sure

whether we should do this kind of thing more or not. So let me know on

Basically the story is that Joe has a new book out and it's a manifesto basically

for what the new Democratic 2020 presidential

candidate should have in terms of economic policy. He has a whole bunch of

policies in there which are kind of interesting. He wants the

universal jobs guarantee, he wants to break up a bunch of big businesses, and he

had a launch event at Barnes and Noble on the upper west side very close to his home and I was the

interlocutor I interviewed him on stage and it was a kind of interesting conversation.

This is not a standard slate money interview. He were not in a studio. My microphone didn't always work that well, so there might be a couple of points where I sound a bit weird or even weird didn't I normally do. And this was for an audience of people who were Joe Stiglitz fans who

lined up for a long time to get him to sign their books.

So this wasn't the kind of place where I would get all adversarial.

Joe likes to talk, I let him talk.
