0:27.3	slasher movie. She gets a phone call from a mysterious stranger. At first he seems friendly and the pair start talking
0:34.7	about their favorite scary movies. But little does she know that the man on the
0:39.7	phone is stood right outside her patio doors, watching her, wondering what her insides look like.
0:48.0	By the mid-90s, the slasher genre had well and truly died.

0:59.8	We'd seen every single masked lunatic dismember every single type of teenager in every single
1:05.4	way imaginable. Teenage audiences were now a little too savvy. They'd began to see and point

1:14.8	But when director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson used this idea to make a brand new
1:19.8	slash a film, one that referenced these rules and tropes and turned them on their
1:23.9	head. They were unaware at this point that they were about to re-ignite the slasher
1:28.8	genre for a whole new generation.
