phone is stood right outside her patio doors, watching her, wondering what her insides look like.

By the mid-90s, the slasher genre had well and truly died.

way imaginable. Teenage audiences were now a little too savvy. They'd began to see and point

But when director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson used this idea to make a brand new

slash a film, one that referenced these rules and tropes and turned them on their

head. They were unaware at this point that they were about to re-ignite the slasher

genre for a whole new generation.
