Nearly every deadly disaster draws conspiracy theories, and the explosion of TWA flight 800

in 1996 with the loss of all lives was no exception.

With such utter obliteration of the evidence, conclusions were hard to come by, which left

the door wide open for conspiratorial claims that it was shot down by American military

forces, either deliberately or accidentally.
