The United States participation in Vietnam is perhaps most notorious for the use of Agent Orange,

the defoliant used to kill the crops of rural Vietnamese, and widely blamed for a host of injuries

sustained by Vietnamese and Americans alike, including many kinds of cancers.

But later research is increasingly contradictory,

and it might turn out that Agent Orange is not as responsible

for nearly as many post-war injuries as previously thought.
