Forgive me listeners for I have sinned. I have made a factual error in a

0:08.6

skeptoid episode. Believe it or not, it does happen, but in my own defense, at least I do my best to

0:15.1

admit and correct the error, as I do with any that can be pointed out and verified. So please,

0:20.9

allow me to prostrate myself before you and admit and clarify some errors from past shows.

That's coming right up, UnSkeptoid.

Hey everyone, Brian here. A quick favor. We are conducting an audience survey. We'd be really

0:43.0

grateful if you could take just a few minutes and answer our survey. This is the kind of thing that's

0:47.5

sort of an engineering and marketing necessity to make the whole free podcast ecosystem flourish.

0:53.6

So please check it out. Also, surveys are fun. You get to talk about yourself. Please visit

0:59.3

survey.prx.org slash skeptoid to take the survey today. That's survey.prx.org slash SKEPTOID. Thanks.

1:37.8

getting the right answers is not as important as using the right methodology to find them. No

1:43.2

matter how hard I work, I'll only find the right answers most of the time, and it would be unscrupulous

1:48.8

of me to promise otherwise. So let's dig right into the most recent batch of errors that have been

1:54.1

pointed out to me and verified. Let's start with one that resulted in a popular uprising of

1:59.8

Scots, who nearly had me drowned in my favorite Ila Whiskey. The episode about the monster of

2:07.0

Gloms is centered on Gloms Castle in Scotland. However, in my opening paragraph, I said it's in

2:14.0

England. I've since received literally hundreds of emails correcting the error. Many containing

2:21.4

helpful analogies to guide me through my haze of ignorance, such as saying Gloms Castle is in

2:26.7

England is like saying the Statue of Liberty is in Canada. However, give me a chance to explain.
