Australia has a lot tighter controls on firearms than does the United States.

And one reason is a 1996 shooting spree called the Port Arthur Massacre, which prompted

the government to enact new legislation.

A small but vocal group of Australians believe that it was a false flag operation, a fake

massacre that was intended to provoke anti-gun sentiment to facilitate taking away Australians

guns.

Today, we're going to point our skeptical eye straight at that conspiracy theory.
