Well, for a lot of you who wanted to know if Jewel and Bede should have surgery, is it going to be rehab, whatever it was that Jewel and Bid in the 76s needed to do to correct, potentially correct the problem.

We now have somewhat of an answer as the Philadelphia 76s today

announce that Joel Embed will undergo arthroscopic surgery next week to address his left knee,

the left knee that has caused him or only allowed him to play 19 games this season. And of course,

we know where the Philadelphia 76s are. Now 30 games

under 500 with just six games to play. And it all starts and ends with him. So I'm Devon

Givens with you here on this emergency pod to address the issue. And what it looks like right now

is they're going in there to clean something up. Now, it's Kyle and Derek and Rich and myself, we've discussed on our PHL-WI-Sixers podcast, plenty this year.

We've had plenty of time to talk about this very issue with Joel and B.

The problem is there hasn't been one thing, surgery-wise, that's going to make this problem go away. He is now an aging superstar

that has dealt with knee injuries for his career, that we have seen him knock him off the

floor for many years now, where many Sixers fans have had the problem with him, of course,

planning the Olympics. Did that make things worse? How is it going to help him?

How is he going to get out there on the floor to team up and have this tree of this big three of

Joelle and Bede, Paul George, after his offseason signing, and Tyrese Maxie? We understand what

this season has been and a lot of it starts with, mostly starts with Joelle and Bede. So what does this do?

The problem is we don't know. We don't know if this is going to help him return to his all-star MVP

form, or is this just something once again, as an arthroscopic surgery, just goes in there,

cleans it up, fingers crossed, and hope that this is going to help him become the player that we've seen for many, many years, for them to then get back to their playoff contention, ultimately their championship contention.

So that's the issue.

We don't know.
