Summary
It might seem a little excessive to do awards, grades, and predictions at the quarter-season mark of an NBA season, but to us it seems perfectly reasonable. We'll grade out all of the Sixers players, coach, and GM, as well as give out some normal, and some strange awards.
We announced this week that The Ringer's Chris Ryan will join us on stage at We Were Right Before Christmas on December 22nd, and BGN Radio announced that Larry "He's Our Baby" Poff will join them on stage. It's really turning into the biggest, most insufferable, inside joke holiday party in history. Get tickets at the "in advance" price of $18 now!

| 0:00.0 | The Rights to Rikis Anche's podcast is brought to you by L. Alpavorsky Jewelers, where rights to Rikis Anche's listeners go and get engaged, Cornblow and Cornblow, the official law firm of the process and the athletic subscribe right now at the athletic.com slash RTRS on today's episode. We are at the quarter season mark or just past it. We are going to give out grades and awards and perhaps reassess anything that we predicted given what we've seen. I don't reassess. |
| 0:30.0 | No reassessing, like I may reassess. And also we have some great questions in the Lorenzo Brown mailbag. I would like to let you know if you haven't heard the announcement yet that the live Riki too we were right before Christmas with BGN Radio. We announced two guests this week. We announced one and the BGN Radio folks announced one. Chris Ryan will appear with us on stage at the live Riki. And then BGN Radio steps in and perhaps |
| 1:00.0 | Trump's us for lack of a better word and announces that the one and only only Larry Poffer will or Larry Poff will also known as the Poffer also known as the Jeff Garcia. He's our baby guy. We'll appear on stage at the live podcast on December 22nd. I got so many questions. Yeah, like I think we could sort of blow off the entire rest of both podcasts and spend two hours with with Poff. I think it's |
| 1:30.8 | so this has taken a very, very strange turn and we'll only get stranger. It's very exciting. This is truly the Philadelphia sports inside joke holiday party. I would say it. Yeah, somebody at the the polar this kid Devon who is at the polar plunge yesterday. And he's a Ricky listener. He goes, OK, so who is the Larry Poff guy? And I was like, all right, let me explain. |
| 1:58.0 | So it's December 22nd. Take us our 18 bucks unless you're getting them day of in which case they become 20 bucks. Don't do that. You can buy them right now at right streaky cinches.com. We are. We are very excited to see you there. |
| 2:09.8 | We're going to have to watch. We'll have to watch the video live with him. That'll be the right. Yes, he'll be the day in that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, definitely we'll have to get him to reenact his own thing. Explain, go piece by sort of like a director's commentary. |
| 2:22.7 | I want to be a little positive and asking questions. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Without any further ado, here is the podcast. |
| 2:52.7 | Welcome to the right to the right. |
| 3:00.7 | So Ricky said to the podcast, I am spike asking along with a guy who is very judgemental based on when you started listening to the right streaky cinches. |
| 3:07.7 | I am. That is Mike Levin. I might. It's more than one of the rare true things that you said. Yeah, very, very true. Normally my opening thing is alive. But this time it was not a lie. |
| 3:20.7 | I want to bring up something very, very petty, I think. And a little change of pace. Change of patience kick us up. Yeah. All right. So I realize something. |
| 3:32.7 | And I think I may have brought this up before, but it might have been years ago. I realized something when I after I gave my very, very honest take about Ben Simmons. |
| 3:43.7 | And I didn't even think it was that hot about Ben Simmons on the last podcast, sort of insinuating that while I don't dislike him and I'm excited that he's good, I have trouble like really feeling invested in his success as of yet. |
| 3:59.7 | And we went through some reasons why that might be possible. And I have since been attacked for like ruining the positive fan base amongst the culture. |
| 4:11.7 | Perhaps driving Ben Simmons away. |
| 4:15.7 | Saying that it is some personal thing because he tweeted me when he was at the airport. |
| 4:21.7 | And so here is here is what I've come to assess. And it's a very strange change in Philadelphia fan culture. But I've noticed it a little bit with Carson Wentz too. |
| 4:36.7 | Is that a city who was at one point criticized for being too hard on their stars, you know, has it's become this thing where it's almost like when a player is good fans act as if they are in a relationship with a girl that they think is out of their league. |
| 4:59.7 | And it's scared that any time anything bad happens, it means it is going to be the end of everything. So like so so they operate in such a way that is so oddly protective and and really it sort of reminds me of the political thing when people talk about being and we are certainly in our own. |
| 5:20.7 | And what's the word I'm talking it's not bubble echo chamber in which anyone who says anything that isn't glowing is going to ruin everything and I like I've got news for you Ben Simmons is not going to lead because I say I don't have an emotional attachment to him. |
| 5:36.7 | And I don't think it does anything negative for the Sixers fan culture or anything like that. I don't think LeBron's not going to come because you are I say that like it's not our first choice. I just don't understand it. |
| 5:52.7 | I it's a really strange shift and I don't I'm always going to say exactly how I feel about everything and the worry like what I was going to do was just open up with some maya culpa like sarcastic maya culpa and talk about how much I love Ben Simmons and how connected I am to him and I I missed it completely and I've done some soul searching. |
