seem like there are so many different methods and techniques to learn.

But if you look closely, you will find some common threads woven between all of the subjects,

and those threads can be boiled down to six simple practices.

Charlotte Mason approach, I was challenged by the wide variety of subjects and learning how

to teach each one. You need to learn how to teach music study and picture study

and history and poetry and math and nature study and all of the other lovely subjects

that are included. It can seem like a lot. But the more I used her methods and taught others

how to use them, the more I began to see patterns

emerging.

There were common threads woven throughout all of the subjects.

That thought intrigued me.

I wondered if the methods could be boiled down and simplified.

Finally, I was able to settle on six practices that

are repeated across the subjects. But here's the twist. Those six practices are not focused

on what the teacher is doing. They're focused on what the student is doing in order to learn for himself.
