So every few months now, I have been sharing a spoken word roundup, narrating some of my most

0:06.0

popular essays from my personal substack and newsletter, A Wake at the Wheel. It's where I write

0:12.3

weekly in a much more personal, long-form way. And at the end, I always include what I call

0:17.2

a wake-up call, which is an invitation to explore a question or take a specific

0:22.5

action designed to help you feel more alive and less alone. Today, I'm sharing my third

0:28.3

A Wake at the Wheel roundup with new spoken word essays and a little poem to tie it all together

0:33.3

at the end, all of which led to some pretty passionate conversations in the comments.

1:01.1

and how I know its value but struggle mightily with it. Now, the fifth is about the myth of losing

1:07.3

1:12.3

to have a little bit of faith, which made me uncomfortable sharing in print, but oddly makes me

1:17.6

even more uncomfortable sharing in spoken word form. Go figure. So if you're moved by what you hear

1:23.9

and would love to spend more time with these essays or read a whole bunch of the other

1:29.2

ones that I share on a regular basis. You can read them along with the wake-up call prompts over at

1:34.8

Awake at the Wheel on Substack. You'll find a link in the show notes. So excited to share these

1:40.4

offerings with you. I'm Jonathan Fields, and this is Good Life Project.

We often hear that there is too much anger in the world. But what if instead of trying to

1:55.5

suppress our anger, we learn to use it wisely. I'm Sam Parker, and in my new book Good Anger, I show how our most

2:03.2

misunderstood emotion can actually be a life-enhancing source of bravery, purpose and self-respect.
