The Pentagon says the number of dead from the U.S. military operation in Iran has risen to six, with two more found from Tehran's initial counterattacks, as the administration explains the decision to launch major combat operations against Iran. Iran posed an imminent threat,

Secretary of State Marco Rubio says, because American service members were likely targets of

retaliation if Iran was attacked by Israel. Obviously, we were aware of Israeli intentions and understood

what that would mean for us, and we had to be prepared to act as a result of it. But this had to

happen no matter what.

Rubio says U.S. operations are focused on destroying Iran's military capabilities, not regime change.

That said, we would not mind, we would not be heartbroken, and we hope that the Iranian people can overthrow this government and establish a new future for that country.

President Trump's, his major combat operations, could continue for four to five weeks.

Cox says Jared Halper at the White House,

and a Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer,

says President Trump is doing exactly what he said he wouldn't do during his campaign.

No matter how you feel about the Iranian regime,

we stand at a dangerous moment for our troops and for the Middle East and even perhaps

for the world. Schumer is saying the president doesn't have a plan or an endgame for Iran

without authorization from Congress or a debate with the American people. Fox's tri-y-inks is in

Tel Aviv. There are air raid sirens sounding across all of central Israel.

We also understand that in the northern city of Haifa, there are sirens sounding. The Iranians,

after about a seven-hour lull, have appeared to launch what appears to be a large barrage

of missiles toward this country. Israeli air defense systems are working right now to shoot down the incoming fire.
