I'll produce a Matt Martin and I are here in Northern Washington State.

We've met up with two wildlife biologists who study and care for the local rattlesnakes.

So it should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway, so rattlesnakes are venomous

and their bite will can inflict harm on humans.

So we want to do everything we can not to get bit.

And they've invited us to visit a den where dozens of snakes are starting to emerge from hibernation.

An opportunity to learn about these misunderstood creatures, these sonic icons of the Wild West.
