In today's episode, learn how 2nd Samuel chapter 7 can help you put God first.

If you'll turn to 2nd Samuel chapter 7, in verse 18, then went King David in and sat before the lord now that phrase also found

in first chronicles which also relates the same event here in his life but let me tell you what's

happening at this particular time the scripture says in verse one of chapter seven it came to pass when the king sat in his house,

and the Lord had given him rest roundabout from all of his enemies.

So what's happened up at this time, of course, he's defeated the Philistines,

he's brought the territory under control, says that the king said unto Nathan, the prophet,

see now, I dwell on the house of Cedar,

but the ark of God, that is, the ark of the covenant, dwells within curtains, that is, within

the tabernacle, which is made primarily of cloth and so forth.

And Nathan said to the king, go do all that's in thine heart, and the Lord is with thee.

And it came to pass that night that the word of the

Lord came to Nathan saying, go and tell my servant, David. Thus saith the Lord, shall thou build me in

house for me to dwell in. And then he gives him a message that he's to tell David. And if you move on

down to verse 17, it says, according to all these words and

according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David. So what's happening here,

what's motivating David now to leave his house and go into the tabernacle and just sit

before the Lord, two things.

First of all, the prophet Nathan has said to him, God has given me a message for you, and this is it.
