Sit rep 14, welcome. Thanks for joining us as we cover the most interesting news from last week

and arm you with the facts, just the facts. So first on our list is the U.S. Ukraine

critical mineral deal being finalized. Last Wednesday, the United States and Ukraine finally signed an agreement,

creating a joint investment fund to finance the European country's reconstruction using future revenues from oil, gas, and critical mineral projects.

The U.S. will be able to negotiate purchases of these resources at market rates.

While no formal security guarantees were included, the deal ties

U.S. economic and military support to Ukraine's long-term recovery. This is a stronger stance

against Russia than earlier drafts of the deal. It's called the United States Ukraine Reconstruction

Investment Fund. The details of the agreement stipulate that the U.S. is required to negotiate

resource purchases directly from these projects, and Ukraine must avoid granting better deals

to other buyers unless they also offer the same terms to the joint fund. Ukraine will contribute

50% of royalties from new resource projects while retaining full ownership of its resources.
