Summary

Closing time! For some, but not all of the Browns! Which wife's house isn't ready to go? We'll find out. Meanwhile... actually, no. That's pretty much the entire episode. I do drop some puns and mention the people's crusade. So... there's that?

Hello, and as always, welcome to the Sister Wives Professor.

0:33.1

That's May, Dr. Adam, Professor of Interpersonal and Family Communication.

0:40.2

A longtime follower of the TLC series Sister Wives and devotee of reality TV, and that kind of rhymes.

0:46.8

It's my podcast where we talk about reality TV, communication theory, and sometimes cow puns.

0:48.6

Been a while since I've done a cow pun.

0:49.5

Hmm.

0:52.2

Anyway, we're back.

1:11.4

We're continuing Sister Wives Season 6 with episode 4, odd wife out. Sorry, Mary, I think that means you. I think that's what they're trying to say in this episode, but we'll talk about why that's the case. This is a really good episode. I've been loving season 6. Hope that you are enjoying season 6 as well. I got a couple of things to tell you about because I'm not very good at this at self-promotion. It's not really my thing, but it shouldn't be about me. It's about

1:16.5

these people that have invited me on their podcasts. If you're enjoying what I do not that long ago,

1:22.3

I guested on Jordan's podcast. Sister Wives Go to Therapy. We covered an episode of Sister Wives, of course, on her

podcast. Jordan has guested with me on Patreon as well in a deep dive, and she's amazing. If you

1:34.8

don't listen to Sister Wives, go to therapy, you certainly should. Not Sister Wives related,

1:39.5

but very near and dear to my heart. I also recently was on the podcast Sullivan Street, which is a podcast devoted to

1:45.5

the band Counting Crows, which is my very favorite band of all time. And they were gracious enough to have me

1:51.2

on that podcast, talking about the band, about pathos and music and identity and why I love that band

and their lyrics. So if you're a Crows fan or even just want to hear me talk about something I'm passionate about, if that interests you for whatever reason, go check that out, the Sullivan Street podcast. The episode is called Not An Enemy. Kind of my ethos in life. But anyway, let's talk about sister wives, season six, episode four, Odd Wife Out. We are so back, and we are back in the cul-de-sac of love. Nearly done. They're actually checking out the landscaping, the Browns are, and certainly looks pretty darn done to me. Look like real homes, Mary says, and all the wives are flipping out. They love the landscaping, it's so finished. On the interview couch, Mary is taken aback. She's very,

2:34.6

very happy. So is Christine. They're all in a great space. And I love that when I can get it.

2:41.2

You know, the Browns together, being happy, we're on a ticking clock for that being a thing in this

2:47.7

show. Who is that? Oh, cue the music. Yep, that's my lady. That's my special lady, Mona. Ooh, Barakuda. Hello, you magnificent human being. We love you so much. Well, Mona lays down the law. They can walk around inside the houses, but not on the carpet. I'm sure there's a good reason the carpet hasn't set. I don't know. Is it wet? I'm sure there's a good reason. Christine bounds into her house. She is bouncing. She is so ready to go. Stops in the kitchen gets overwhelmed, crying. How beautiful everything is, wiping away tears. Come and refrain from me, but it's just so nice to see her happy. I love her joy.

3:25.5

I love that she's getting something that she imagined.

3:28.5

That's a wonderful feeling because your intrapersonal communication, when you spend so much time imagining something, especially if it feels so far away as you speak to yourself and communicate with yourself as we all do all the time when you're
