That's me. I'm Dr. Adam, Professor of Communication and longtime follower of the TLC series Sister Wives.

Thanks so much for joining me today as we continue our look back, so to say, at season three of Sister Wives. Specifically today, I do want to talk to you about season three, episode

four, The Four lives of Cody Brown.

This has been a lot of fun. I hope you've been enjoying it too. This is a longer episode compared

to the majority of these early seasons. It's as long as a typical episode is now as of

like season 19 and before that. So hopefully we've got enough to talk about today to keep you

entertained, occupied, or to keep you entertained,

occupied, or to keep you company with whatever it is you're doing.

So we open the episode with quick cuts of Cody bonding with each wife, which is the central

thesis of this episode to showcase how Cody has these four distinct relationships.

Already a big difference, obviously, from what we see now.

But yeah, we see these real quick shots of Cody engaging in some sort of play or relaxation

with each wife. He's pushing Mary on a swing. He's making Janelle laugh in a kitchen,

sitting in some pool floats in the pool with Christine and jogging with Robin. And we'll see

bits of these throughout the

episode.

Cody says it's been a big challenge ever since the move.

He's moved out of the vacation home, et cetera, into these individual homes.

It's just been managing his time, he says, and his rate of speech is very fast.
