Music Well, hello, and as always, welcome to the Sister Wives Professor. That is me. I am Dr. Adam,

Professor of Communication and longtime follower of the TLC series Sister Wives.

It is my privilege to talk to you today about that show in this season, as I guess we're getting to a mid-season break, but I'll talk more about that at a moment. Can I be real with you

for a moment? I feel like that's kind of my thing. This has been a week.

I won't go into the details because they're just not worth your time, but family's fine,

wife is fine, kids are fine, but it's been crazy. It has been not great. And so if you are hearing

this, I just want to say, I am really proud that I got this out

because it was a bit of a struggle and I'm not complaining. This is like one of the highlights of my

week. It is a joy to talk to you. I just bring this up because I know some of you feel me right now

that things are just, I feel like I'm trying to move under water all the time, if that makes

sense. Not in a breathing sense, but I feel like everything I typically do, I just feel slowed

down. But, hey, you know what, maybe this is in part because this season has been exhausting.

No, just kidding, that's not part of it, but maybe even TLC is exhausted because we are taking a break, I guess.

Well, you and I aren't necessarily taking a break, but Sister Wives is taking a break. I don't know how long,

but I know there's some sort of mid-season break. There are not going to be any new episodes for

at least the next couple of weeks. It's about as much as I know. You probably know more about this than I do, or at least you might, which is great. Good for you. Feel free to let me know exactly what the plan seems to be,

but so does that mean, Adam, that this is your last podcast for some indefinite period of time

until Sister Wives' Season 19 comes back? Well, here's a thing. Actually, no. Heck no. You know what I just said about how things are tricky? I don't care. This train keeps rolling. We may be putting one track in front of the other as we're moving, but this train keeps rolling. And so what I have decided to do after thinking about it for about five minutes or so is I'm going to go back to

Sister Wives Season 3, where I left off before I went on my own break last year. I made it up to

Season 3, Episode 2, if I'm not mistaken. So next week, I expect that I will pick back up with season three, episode three of
