Today, it is my true honor and privilege to be joined by one of

the greatest film actresses of all time. A woman who, some 58 years ago, took a leap of faith,

leaving a small town in Texas to pursue her dreams and actually realized them. She became a movie star

anchoring numerous films that became instant classics,

including Badlands, Carrie, Coal Miner's Daughter, Missing, The Straight Story, in the

bedroom, the help, and the list goes on. She has been nominated for the best actress

Oscar six times across three different decades, winning once. She has also won the tremendous admiration of her collaborators, with Robert Altman

describing her as remarkable, one of the top actresses I've ever worked with, and Jack Lemon

calling her one of the finest actors I've ever worked with.

And at a very youthful 75, she is not slowing down.
