Summary

Welcome to the first edition of Thursday Inquiries!! My unofficial or maybe official name for the new format. Mondays will be interviews and Thursdays will be commentary and news and so forth. A lot is happening in the news and a lot of people are still very sloppy thinkers. In an episode of The Waking Up Podcast, Sam Harris said that Trump was the end of the Democratic Party. Could this really be true in an election where Democrats won by 3 million votes? Also Trump had his first press conference as president elect and it was predictably terrifying. And yes, Trump mocked a disabled person. All this and more, plus leave me a voicemail at my new Serious Pod number!! It's (916) 750-4746. You're listening to serious inquiries only. Oh, Hello and welcome to Serious Inquiries only I'm your host Thomas Smith and this is episode number six.

0:36.0

And I'm very excited to, I guess, sort of announce, but to talk about the new format that this show is taking. It's not all that

0:45.3

different really it's just going to be a little bit more formalized. So Monday's show is going to be the

0:50.6

interview. Interviews anything I do will take place on Monday

0:54.9

and Thursday show, which is today of course,

0:57.8

that's going to be more of a commentary news kind of politics,

1:02.2

opinion, that kind of thing. I'm going to cover anything in the news

1:05.9

that I think I can have something intelligent to say about. I think I want to make sure it's

1:11.6

thought-provoking, it's interesting, I'm not just reading you headlines, I'm not going to do that, and I'm by no means going to cover everything.

1:20.0

Really notable, of course, that goes without saying, but but still I only say that because as I went to

1:25.7

compile this show everything in the world happened there just so many items that I want to

1:31.9

talk about but I can't squeeze it all in, so I'll have to do a little bit of discriminating

1:38.6

in terms of what I want to put in here. But that's what I'm going to do and it helps me do a lot of things

1:43.6

it helps me standardize the shows a little you know what to expect more it

1:48.7

also it's going to make me focus the interviews a little more and make sure that they're more like solid one parters, you know?

1:56.5

I'm already, I've already been, since I've been able to do this full time, I've already been able to edit more strictly and keep things shorter and more concise and put

2:06.1

more time into getting it to be a better product.

2:08.6

So it's just more of the same of that.

2:11.0

So all that being said, how about I stopped talking about the new format and just go into some

2:16.6

news items and opinion for you today. Oh one more thing I thought it might be fun to set up a little voicemail in case anyone

2:31.7

wants to leave a message and leave a comment

2:34.1

that I could play on the show. Thought it might be fun. So if you want to, you can call 916 750

...
