Summary

It is immensely important to me that I do my best to engage with those who disagree, and in that spirit I present a conversation with someone who argued a lot with me on Twitter about Jordan B. Peterson and Canadian bill C-16. This conversation took place on May 4th, but with a lot of Trump news and some key interviews I kept the interview as patron only. Lots of listeners have requested its release though, and I think it's also an inspiring and useful dialogue to hear. So at long last, I give you my conversation with @PithyJoe on the merits of bill C-16. Leave Thomas a voicemail! (916) 750-4746, remember short and to the point! Thomas Smith all right today's interview is actually a more of a debate with

0:38.6

someone who disagreed with me on Canadian bill C16 the one I've talked about a number of times that Jordan B Peterson

0:45.4

is an activist over and is making $30,000 on Patreon a month, just in case anyone was wondering,

0:51.3

because of complaining about how his rights will be

0:54.0

infringed by a very nonsense minor thing but anyway that you'll hear me

0:58.7

discuss that a little bit but this was a discussion, it's important to me to engage with people who disagree.

1:06.2

It's very important to me.

1:08.0

It's, I do not want to ever create an echo chamber.

1:10.6

It's not always easy, it's not always practical, and you know, lots of times I want to be doing interviews with whoever I think is interesting regardless of their views and I want to be talking about politics and news and all that. So it's not 100% of my my show but it is something that I do think is integral to

1:26.2

the show which is actually engaged with people who disagree and try to reach the other side or or and by the way or I'll change my mind you know I've said it a number of times I feel like lately but I just am not afraid of having conversations because either I'm right which that's cool it's fun being right. Or I'm wrong and then I can just evaluate and think,

1:45.8

oh well, I guess I'm wrong about this

1:47.5

and then I get to be right immediately.

1:49.6

I know, I don't know if that's corny or if that's too optimistic, but that really is how I feel about it.

1:56.4

Like it's not that hard.

1:57.5

I mean, it's surprises me how little people want to actually have these discussions.

2:04.4

It's kind of depressing, but I'm going to do my best.

2:07.1

And with that said, here's my conversation with

2:09.6

Pithy Joe on Twitter who had a different view. It was kind of a Jordan B Peterson fan and we'll see how that goes. This took place on May 4th. I referenced it and it has been patron only, but a lot of people called for it, they wanted it, and upon listening

2:25.7

to it and editing it, I do find, I do think this is a really valuable discussion to learn from as an example. And if you know anyone who is a Jordan B Peterson fan

2:36.3

you might point them to this interview and and well you'll listen first I'll talk to you

2:41.0

after here's the debate with AtPithy Joe. Jo. at Pithy Joe Joe on Twitter, otherwise known as K-Men Synthesizer, but that changes from time to time.
