episodes. Finally, after a lot of work, we've got a three-part mini-series on what the

fuck is a Brett Weinstein.

Brett Weinstein, for anyone who doesn't know,

is an intellectual dork web asshole

who I actually covered when he first came to prominence,

he taught at a little school called Evergreen, and he did a racism because he found it so appalling that black students would want to hold a day of absence and white students and white faculty

wanted to honor that and not come to campus that day. It was kind of a reversal of the typical thing

that they used to do, which is a day of absence where the black students and some

faculty would be absent from the campus to prove a point.

In a particularly difficult year, there's a significant police event nearby the school that year and so the thought was to

kind of show extra solidarity that they would reverse the normal dynamic and white people would be

absent from school for the day but also could participate in some seminars and stuff.

It was all one of those things that is entirely reasonable on a human level until it gets blown into a culture war issue,

and then it turns into a reverse racism and how dare you and all that stuff.

And Brett Weinstein was a professor who could not believe that anyone would ever not want him

somewhere and didn't handle that well and taking the attitude that he ought to be leading discussions on race rather than perhaps listening or even just I don't know not giving a shit you know that's also an option if you don't agree with something you just kind of let it play out and not have an opinion on it that is always an option for these reactionaries.

I always marvel like you don't it's not like you have to be the super wokest of woke.

I mean I think you should do your best, but like, even if you just disagree or you don't, you

aren't there. You always just shut the fuck up. You can always just shut the fuck up.

But anyway, Brett could not be silenced.
