Summary

It's a solo show! We've got a couple Tuesdays' worth of primary results to discuss, and they aren't good for Bernie Sanders. So why is Bernie doing so much worse than in 2016? According to Amanda Marcotte and others, it's maybe due to sexism. I discuss that and other responses to it. I also talk about some mindset changes I've been having, spurred by how awful Twitter has been in this primary and also by the book Politics is for Power, that really has opened my eyes to how many ways politics is merely a hobby and why that's not good.

0:42.0

Jamie is holed up with her kids I think on coronavirus retreat. It's the real

0:49.9

deal that coronavirus and Jamie couldn't make it she sends her regrets but

0:55.5

she'll be back I'm sure very soon hopefully but I had a lot of wine to talk

1:00.4

about anyway and so I'm going to do a solo pod I want to talk about anyway. And so I'm going to do a solo pot. I want to talk about not only

1:05.8

Super Tuesday, but the subsequent Tuesday. I don't know what that one's called.

1:10.5

Uber Tuesday, slightly less Super Tuesday. And then also, you know,

1:14.6

Biden seems to be our candidate, so lots to talk about there and I'm sure when

1:19.7

Jamie returns we can talk more, but I have some thoughts and also I have some thoughts on

1:24.6

social media in general I'm kind of going through personally a bit of a change in

1:30.5

how I want to be doing things online and and I and actually in life a little bit so hopefully that'll be interesting so let's talk about let's talk about the results from Tuesday

1:41.8

So as everyone I'm sure listening knows as Elizabeth about the results from Tuesday.

1:42.5

So as everyone I'm sure listening knows, I was a Elizabeth Warren supporter and then subsequently

1:46.9

once she dropped out, I transitioned over to supporting Bernie Sanders, I donated. I tried to get the word out on

1:54.3

Twitter, but to my disappointment, and I'm sure to even more disappointment of

1:58.8

lots of Bernie supporters, wow, really seems like he has no chance. I mean the polls told us this actually about a week ago, maybe a little less than a week ago.

2:09.0

I follow the polls pretty closely in 538 and all that and some some really really bad for

2:15.5

Bernie state polls came out and you know as as is always the case polls can be wrong but not usually when it's that many different

2:25.9

polls with different methodology that are all saying the same thing usually

2:29.2

they're honestly usually they're not wrong. Side note, still so many times people take, I think,

2:36.3

an incomplete or slightly inaccurate lesson

2:39.8

from 2016 in saying that polls are always wrong. more likely I mean we're all human we all tend to think the polls that say things we agree with are right and the other ones are wrong.
