Summary

Listeners had so many great voicemail messages this month, it demanded a second episode! Also I am a talker, so it could be that. Lots of a great discussion here, starting with a very appropriate callout of a mistake I made on a previous show. After that, I discuss the right wing attacks on Congresswoman Omar and the fact that we never have to listen to Republicans ever again. Then, I clarify some thoughts on the 2020 Democratic candidates thus far, and the difference between token representation, and fighting systemic bias in what kinds of candidates we value.

coincide with things that I had been kind of planning to rant about and talk about so it went a little

listener voicemail from I suppose this would be March but they're good

timeless topics or slash things that are worth revisiting so here we go part two Let's get to our first message.

1:24.3

Hey Thomas in the most recent episode of serious inquiries

1:28.3

you refer to a pack as the Jewish lobby

1:31.3

about 29 a 29 minutes in.

1:33.6

And maybe you just misspoke,

1:35.5

but it's funny because that conflation

1:38.1

is actually the crux of the issue.

1:40.9

That conflation has been deployed cynically, particularly by conservatives through this criticism of imperialism and the actions of the state of Israel.

1:51.0

And it's hard not to think that a lot of the prominent critics of Ilhan on the left side of the aisle are being a little disingenuous.

2:00.0

So for instance, just a week after Nancy Pelosi was pushing this measure that seemed from the outset to be more or less a condemnation of Omar,

2:10.0

it was announced that Nancy Pelosi was going to speak at AIPAC.

2:13.0

So I think it's worth pointing out that even though some members, even some members of her own party

2:19.0

are likely engaging in a similar kind of dishonest attack on Omar that the bench appears as the world are and I just want to bring that up with you.

2:27.5

So I love the show, keep up the good work.

2:30.0

Hey, thank you so much for calling that to my attention. Yes, I absolutely apologize for miss speaking.
