Summary

The last episode, the debate between Chris and Tracey on the Aziz Ansari incident, caused a decent amount of controversy. Many women were frustrated by Chris and also felt like we didn't need to hear from another male on this issue. I talk about these valid concerns and what I was trying to do with this episode and in general. This first half is very meta and involves working through criticism, so if that's not something you're interested in, please skip to 26:40 because there are two incredible recordings from women who wanted to share. They are a must listen. Also btw there's more to the Garrison Keillor story. Leave Thomas a voicemail! (916) 750-4746, remember short and to the point! Support the show at seriouspod.com/support! 0:35.0

All right, well, how about that last episode, huh?

0:38.0

Got a lot to talk about.

0:42.0

And it does stem from the last episode.

0:45.1

A minor shitstorm did a brew from that.

0:49.4

Not a category five or anything, but but just but there's enough sort of legitimate

0:56.4

criticism mixed in with somewhat I think is some unfair criticism and so maybe

1:01.1

some difference in where people are coming from that actually I do

1:05.6

want to address that but I want to say okay something like half this episode might

1:10.0

be self-reflecting kind of meta-analysis of what I'm doing here. It's a little bit

1:17.1

self-referential and it's something I don't I'm very hesitant to do except that I've had a lot of

1:22.0

thoughts about this I think I a lot of thoughts about this. I think I have some

1:23.4

interesting thoughts about it and also I want to highlight some of the very

1:27.7

worthwhile concerns that people had. But if you don't want to hear me talk about

1:31.8

what I'm trying to do here and and reflect on criticism all that if that's just not something you're interested in no hard feelings but don't miss the latter half of the episode wherein I have two incredibly fascinating and compelling

1:47.0

voicemail messages. They're actually both recordings sent to me so they're actually pretty long,

1:52.2

but that's good because they're they're

1:54.1

fantastic I don't want you to miss those so if nothing else don't miss those

1:58.2

they started about 26 minutes 40 seconds so first thing to say as with all shitstorms major and minor is it comes with

2:08.8

the difficult task of trying to evaluate okay what percentage of my audience is this?

2:15.0

Because I have heard from plenty of people who saw what I was trying to do with

2:20.2

that episode and enjoyed it for what it was despite the fact that they were probably
