Hi, everybody. Welcome to Shift, a podcast about mobility. I'm Pete Bigelow, your host and reporter at the automotive news.

0:13.2

My guest on the podcast this week is To Lee, founder and managing director of Sino Auto Insights.

0:19.8

We'll be talking about BYD's big announcement

0:22.2

regarding its God's Eye driver assistance system this week and what that means for the ever-growing

0:27.9

competition in the global automotive market. I think everyone in the West believes that

1:29.5

or simply looking out the window, reclaiming valuable time, end quote.

1:35.3

That statement's interesting because it goes beyond what Mercedes-Benz said in terms of what

1:40.2

its level three driver system can do last year, which was about taking your attention away from the road,

1:48.1

but they were very careful to not specify some of the activities

1:52.3

that a driver might engage in while they're not driving.
