What happens when we push God's truth away?

Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall unveils the shocking reality found in Romans chapter 1.

In this passage, Paul provides a vivid portrait of man's downward spiral when we suppress divine truth.

This isn't about pointing fingers at others.

It's about recognizing our own capacity for moral collapse when we attempt to live without Christ.

Paul shows us how God's wrath is incited when we ignore his truth,

but His righteousness is invited when we embrace it.

If you brought a Bible with you, I'd invite you to turn to two places.

In one place, I'd like you to place the outline for the morning message. Just put it at 1st Corinthians chapter 6. We'll start there at a few minutes, but for now, let's look at Romans chapter 1. This is clearly the last half of Romans 1, the most vivid portrayal of depravity, certainly in all the Bible, perhaps

in all literature. It is not a pleasant picture, but it is real. Romans 1, beginning at verse 24,

down through verse 32. Therefore, God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity

so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshipped and served the creature rather than the creator who is blessed forever.

Amen.

For this reason, God gave them over to degrading passions.

For their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural.

And in the same way, also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman

and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men, committing indecent acts, and receiving

in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved

mind.
