Hello again, you beautiful humans.

It's Sarah back in your inbox with another little story from my slightly unhinged brain.

I hope the puckered from fear of running out of stories has eased, if only

slightly. So here's a fun fact about me. I've experienced deja vu for as long as I can remember,

and I hate it. Not in the, oh weird, I've seen this before kind of way, but in the uh-oh, something

terrible is about to happen sort of way. It always hits me with a wave of dread and spikes my anxiety straight

to an 11. One of the earliest and most vivid experiences I had was when I was about eight years old.

I was terrified of water, but also strangely drawn to it, like a moth to a chlorinated flame.

Just down the road from my childhood home was this tiny

creek that would turn into a full-blown mini river when it rained too hard. Whenever the water was high,

I was terrified to walk across the sidewalk bridge that spanned it. I was convinced I'd fall in and

drown. Then the dream started. In them, I was walking over that bridge, and just like that,

I'd fall. I'd hit the water, sink fast, and look up to see sunlight filtering through the surface.

I'd feel the pressure in my chest from holding my breath too long. I couldn't move. I didn't know

how to swim yet. The fear was so vivid, it clung to me long after I woke up.

Fast forward a year or so ago.

Q the Girl Scout Pool Party.

We were told to stay in the shallow inn unless we knew how to swim.

Seemed simple enough.
