Hey y'all first I want to include a trigger warning of abuse and miscarriage.

Let me start off by saying that y'all have been through so much with me and you have no idea.

I've been a listener since 2021 when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter.

At the time I lived in Colorado without family nearby.

I'm from Alabama.

Right around the time I found out I was pregnant, I also discovered my partner was a bit of a

shit ass. He's working on it. I own my mistakes in rushing into something. I was vulnerable

when he found me and that's clear now.

Anyway, we lived alone in the mountains and I was pregnant. The sound of y'all's voices

reminded me of home at a time when I felt like I had no one outside of me and my growing

girl. Your personalities and voices so often reminded me of my sister and listening to the

listener stories of so many southerners running in

helped me feel like home was nearby when I knew it was not. Y'all were literally my

only sense of safety. I'd sit in my closet doing laundry or in the nursery, putting things

together, listening to y'all and it was like my sister was in the room telling me I was going to make it

through this. So I just want to say thank you for that. To this day you still bring me the comfort I need to remember that home is just

a listen away. Well I'm not crying you're crying. For my first story I'm going to go back to my early 30s. I was in an abusive relationship with a person,
